Well, here's the spill. He's due to have surgery tomorrow morning around 7AM or so. Any and all prayers will greatly be appreciated. What he has is a blockage in his small intenstine, right after it leaves the stomach basically. They will not know for sure the extension of repairs needed until they are performing the surgery.
Wesley is doing well, the biggest baby in our room by far. He's very healthy minus the surgery he's going to have. Had it not been for that we probably could have taken him home in a matter of days. They keep having to add more "barracades" because he was trying to turn over yesterday! Normally that wouldn't be such a big deal but they have an IV line attached to an artery through his belly button that is currently giving him his sustainenance. He's not able to eat yet due to the blockage in his instenstine. He also has a suction line coming out of his nose that is currently sucking out any fluids from his tummy. When they build up it makes it hard for him to breath, so the tube keeps that all cleared up. It's a big surgery for such a little guy. He's gonna have to be on a breathing machine for several days afterward. After that is removed, when he's healed enough we'll try to start the feeding process. Depending on how he takes to that they'll make sure his digestive tract is working properly. Once that's all lined out, he should be able to go home. Also, they did a test on his heart and it seems to be healthy as well.
Thanks again everyone.
-Mike
